Prohibited Goods (Parcel)

At UPC, the following items (or any item similar to the description or content) are strictly prohibited by any of the courier companies. Any shipment containing such items may be subjected to the order being rejected without notice. Items that fall under these lists are prohibited.

UPC will not be responsible for any loss or damage of the prohibited item(s). No compensation for loss or damage will be given. Following is the list of the prohibited items that will not be accepted by UPC.

  • All Classes of Dangerous Goods (DG) including Battery e.g. Explosives, Gases, Flammable liquids/solids, Oxidizing agents and organic peroxides, Toxic and infectious substances, Radioactive substances, Corrosive substances
  • Antiques, Cultural artifacts
  • Animal products (e.g. Animal oil & fats, Antibody, Bacillus, Bacon, Bacteria, Biological substance, Blood, Bone, Cell, Coliform, Feathers, Feed, Guts, Horns, Jerky, Petfood, Protein, Raw wool & leather, Sausage, Semen, Serum, Animal skins, Fur skin)
  • Animals, fish, birds (live)
  • Plants, Seeds, Cotton seeds, Grain samples, Soil samples
  • Plant products e.g. Barley, Beans, Clay, Flour, Green coffee, Potpourri, Hay, Fresh / Dried fruits, Grain, Herb, Leaf, Malt, Nuts, Flowers, Rice, Seeds, Soil, Spices, Tea (excluding tea bag), tobacco, Walnut, Wheat, Wood, Vegetable
  • Batteries / Lithium-ion batteries / Powerbank
  • All liquor & alcoholic beverages
  • All products in powder or liquid form
  • ATA CARNET shipment
  • Fake products
  • Gambling devices, including lottery tickets
  • Perishable products and other goods that required refrigeration or other environmental control
  • Pornographic and/or obscene materials
  • Precious metal - Bullion, Precious stones
  • Product made from endangered species including Ivory, Product made from wildlife
  • Tissue of livestock, Corpse (dead animals), human remains and ashes
  • Hazardous waste - Biological and Chemical waste
  • Fuel samples (for analytical purposes)

  • Cash (coins, currency, bank notes) and cash-like negotiable instruments such as endorsed stocks, bonds, postage stamp and cash letters.
  • Drug - non-prescription, Drug - Prescription, Drug- samples
  • Hazardous waste, e.g. used syringes, hypodermic needles, and other medical waste
  • Medical equipments
  • Hazardous wastes
  • Perishable food (decays quickly, needs refrigeration) e.g. fruits, vegetables
  • Tobacco (including chewing tobacco, imitation tobacco, smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes)
  • Coal and firewood, raw material of woods, unprocessed woods

Restricted Goods (Parcel)

At UPC, the following items (or any item similar to the description or content) are strictly prohibited by any of the courier companies. Any shipment containing such items may be subjected to the order can still be accepted only with a prior notice. If there’s no such prior notice from the receivers themselves, UPC has the right to reject the item without notice.

UPC will not be responsible for any loss or damage of the restricted item(s). No compensation for loss or damage will be given. Following is the list of the restricted items (with prior notice) that will be accepted by UPC. UPC has the right to update the restricted items list without any prior notice.

  • Cell phones / Mobile phones / Tablet / Phablet
  • Artworks - fine, for commercial, for personal Restricted
  • General cosmetics - for commercial & for personal
  • Cheque - for business, for personal, for travellers
  • Credit card
  • Computer, desktop computer, notebook computer, laptop computer
  • Film: copies, for commercial, for entertainment, publicity and training Microfilm, Negative, Slides
  • Jewellery including imitation jewellery
  • Watch
  • Documents or original copies (e.g.: MyKad, passport, birth certificate, cheque book, road tax, academic certificates or others)
  • Fragile goods (e.g.: Glasses, mirrors or any items that have similar attributes)

Lost/Damaged Goods (Parcel)

Complaints of any damage/loss to goods addressed to UPC (company) must be reported to the company within 24 hours after the goods are received (damage) or aware of the loss. The company will not entertain any claim submitted by any party if the complaint is made after 24 hours the goods are received without objection. Items allegedly damaged/lost under operation must be physically proven to prove the damage/loss due to the negligence of the company when the complaint is made so that inspection and verification can be done by the company. The company reserves the right to reject any claim if the complainant fails to submit proof of damage/loss occurred under the company's control.

Claims for compensation for loss or damage due to handling by the company can only be claimed by the recipient/sender or a representative agreed in writing. Claims for compensation must be submitted in writing together with proof of posting and a valid copy of identification. Payment of claims for direct loss costs for damaged or lost goods caused by negligence of the company's operations is limited to the following amounts:

  • The actual amount of loss or damage suffered, based on the content and the actual value of the content declared at the time of posting or a maximum of RM100 for documents or packages weighing less than 2kg, whichever is lower, Limited to one claim for one item only.
  • The actual amount of loss or damage suffered, based on the content and the actual value of the content that has been declared at the time of posting or a maximum of RM300 for documents or packages weighing equal to and exceeding 2kg, whichever is lower. Limited to one claim for one item only.
